JEFF LLOYD

[SOUTH WEST BUDGERIGAR CLUB (MANDURAH) INC]

Jeff started out with budgies as a 13 year old in 1977. This interest developed from being a member of the Gould League whilst attending Primary School. At High School he took a keen interest in Biology and in particular Genetics. This he was able to apply to the breeding of budgerigars.

Whilst at High School Jeff studied to be a Judge. Gaining judges accreditation in 1982 as a 18 year old. He went on to qualify as a National Judge in Sydney in 1991.

Jeff has judged 3 National Championships – Perth 1994, Launceston 1995 and Perth 2001.

Jeff has a small stud favouring Normal Greens (Grey Green, Dark Green and Light Green); Lutinos; Dominant Pieds and Texas Clearbodies. The stud is founded on the bloodlines of Henry George, Kelwyn Kakoschke, Len Vinci and Nigel Tonkin. These have been interbred over the last 15 years to form his own distinct bloodlines.

Success at National level has been spread over many years. Being interrupted at times by priority being given to other family interests:
